Habitat for Humanity Recycled Arts Show

This is a new and different kind of “graphic design” for me. Tomorrow night, April 19th, I’ll be debuting as an artist at the 2nd Annual Recycled Arts Show benefiting Habitat for Humanity at the old antique store located next to CarQuest in downtown Pagosa. Friday night from 6pm–9pm is the gallery opening and Meet the Artists Event. Tickets are $20. Then Saturday the gallery is open to the public for free from 11am–4pm.

Tree of Life: Herbst

When hubby and I spent our 10 year anniversary in New Orleans, I saw some really neat fish sculptures made from bottle caps. Last year I finished my first piece the ‘Wild Salmon’, and this spring I saw a call for artists in the paper for the Habitat Art Show. Turned out to be a great fit and spurred me on to finish off two more pieces. I’ve got big ideas to continue some of these in a series and do larger, 3-D, free-standing pieces using more than just caps. Hopefully this is just the start of a new adventure!
